The UK’s best and most exciting non-surgical skin regeneration procedure.
Genuine Dermaroller Therapy stimulates the skin to repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.
Dermaroller™ skin needling (also known as collagen induction therapy) uses a sterile medical roller covered in tiny micro needles to create miniscule pin point punctures in the skin. This is perceived by the body as damage, which stimulates the production of new collagen. The body reacts to an injury by initiating the healing process, but usually it will only heal as far as it must to keep you healthy –which is different to healing to a cosmetic level. Consecutive skin needling sessions however trick your body to continue the healing process and the production of collagen to a cosmetic level, improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars and enlarged pores.
Genuine Dermaroller Therapy offers amazing results without the inconvenient ‘down time’ that comes with more aggressive laser treatments and medium and deep chemical peels. And because it stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself without adding foreign substances to the body or taking anything away, Genuine Dermaroller Therapy is a natural process which has an excellent safety profile when used by trained medical aesthetic practitioners.
Due to this, Genuine Dermaroller Therapy is suitable for use on darker skins and for use during the summer months when other treatments are more risky due to the increased UV sensitivity they can induce.
How the treatment looks like?
Thirty-fourty minutes prior to treatment a topical anaesthetic is used to numb the skin. Then the treatment takes a further 30 minutes depending on the area being treated. Genuine Dermaroller Therapy uses the Dermaroller, a high quality sterile single use medical-device, the only such device approved within the EU and only available in the UK and Ireland from trained medical practitioners and authorised clinics.
Immediately after your Dermaroller™ Therapy you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. The redness will start to subside after 1-2 hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day. Immediately after a Chiroxy Cream is applied to help soothe and calm the skin. Patients are advised to treat the skin gently until the redness has cleared. After the Dermaroller™ procedure your body starts to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and the blood supply is enhanced.
It can take 6-8 weeks before any signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural long lasting enhancement.
Where can Dermaroller Therapy be used?
The treatment is fantastic for the regeneration of the face, neck, décolleté and the back of the hands including:
Lines and wrinkles
Aged and sun-damaged skin
Thin, crêpey skin
Repair of acne scars
Treatment of stretch marks on thighs and tummies.
Skin immediately after Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure.
Skin damage and results 6 weeks after Genuine Dermaroller™ meso-rejuvenation treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
We usually recommend a course of 3 treatments every 4- 6 weeks, although in cases of severe acne scarring further treatments may be required. Whilst not indicated for every patient, skin preparation with active ingredients such as Vitamin C, for 2 weeks prior to the treatment, may maximise treatment outcomes.
Who is not suitable for Dermaroller™ treatment?
Patients who have taken Roaccutane in the last 6 months, have dermatitis or infection in the area to be treated,
who are pregnant or who have abnormal wound healing are not suitable for treatment.
